I. Terms of Service
Document version: 1.0.2-candidate.3
Notice date: October 14, 2026 (KST)
Effective date: October 14, 2026 (KST)
Summary of these Terms. You should read them in full, but here is what you most need to know.
- The service runs on subscription fees and advertising. Ads are not personalized using your records or behaviour, and personalized ads will only be introduced after notice and consent. Your records and personal data are never given or sold to advertisers.
- ProTips is a paid service. Every feature — round recording, scorecards, Performance analysis, party rounds, friends and messaging — needs a membership. A member subscribing for the first time gets a 3-day free trial; when it ends, the fee for the chosen billing cycle is charged automatically.
- When your membership ends, you cannot view your records. No record is deleted, and resubscribing makes them available again. There is no feature to export records out of the service.
- A subscription is a digital service delivered the moment you pay. Once paid billing starts, it is not refunded, including when an annual plan is cancelled early; cancelling stops the next renewal.
- Your records are yours. The company uses your content only as needed to run the service; model training or outside promotion needs your separate consent.
- The company's liability is capped. For ordinary negligence, liability is limited to the fees you paid in the previous 12 months. Intent or gross negligence, personal injury and personal-data breaches are not capped.
- Changes to the Terms are announced 30 days ahead. If you do not object within that period you are treated as having agreed. If you disagree you can terminate and have the unused period settled.
- Deletion takes effect immediately, and the same login account can register again after 100 days.
- Korean law applies, and you can bring disputes in the court of your own address.
Article 1 The Company and Members
These Terms are the contract between 주식회사 마루나에이아이 (the “Company”) and each member who uses ProTips.

A member is the individual who uses the service through their own account. In the Republic of Korea only persons aged 14 or older may register. If the entered date of birth shows the person is under 14, registration is not completed and that date of birth is not stored. Age verification uses only the date of birth; copies of identification documents are not required.
A minor's paid contract needs a legal representative's consent. Paid contracts by members under 19 require the consent of a legal representative under applicable law. A contract made without that consent may be cancelled by the minor or the legal representative, and completion of a store payment does not by itself remove that right.
One person, one account. The account is for the member's own use; selling or lending credentials or transferring the account is not permitted. Where account takeover or abnormal access is suspected, the Company may end login sessions without prior notice and then explain the reason and how to recover without delay.
Article 2 The ProTips Service
The Company provides the following service. The service includes recording and storage of golf rounds, holes, shots and scorecards; statistics, analysis and AI question answering about those records; recording, editing and posting of swing videos; friends, spectating and messaging; and weather information for the day of a round. Available features and supported environments are shown in the service guide, and features not yet provided are not part of the paid service.
Beta features are provided as they are. The Company may change or end features marked as beta without prior notice. Such changes do not affect what a paid subscription provides, and the Company is not liable for them unless it acted with intent or gross negligence.
The app keeps being updated. The Company releases app updates to improve the service, and members install them according to their device settings. The minimum supported version needed for safety is shown in the app.
Relationships and payments do not create viewing rights. Being a guardian, coach or friend, or having paid a subscription, does not by itself grant access to another member's records.
Article 3 Membership
The service runs on subscription fees and advertising. The Company may place ads within the service, and ads are labeled as ads. Ads are not personalized using members' records or behaviour; if personalized ads are introduced, the items processed, the purpose and how to refuse are announced first and separate consent is obtained. Members' records and personal data are not given or sold to advertisers.
Every feature is used through the membership. Every feature of the service — recording rounds and joining parties, the member's own scorecards, Performance analysis and AI questions, friends, invitations, spectating, messaging and the feed, and the calendar — requires a valid membership. Each member taking part in a party round needs their own membership. Without a membership, the member can still sign in, subscribe and restore purchases, read the Terms and the Privacy Notice, and delete the account. A round recorded on the member's behalf by someone else is still the card of the member who owns it.
A first subscription starts with a 3-day free trial. The free trial is offered once per store account, and the store decides eligibility. During the trial every feature is available. Unless the member cancels before the trial ends, the fee for the billing cycle the member chose is charged automatically when the trial ends. Before subscribing, the Company shows the trial length, the amount after the trial and when the first charge is made.
When the membership ends, the service is no longer available. When a membership ends, the member cannot use the service, including their own records. No record is deleted, and resubscribing makes them available again. The Company provides no feature to export records or analysis results out of the service. This clause does not affect access requests under Section 6 of the Privacy Notice.
Sharing Performance needs both memberships. To share Performance with another member, the member needs their own membership; payment by the other person or a coach cannot substitute for it. The Performance of a member whose membership has ended is not shown to anyone else.
One product, two billing cycles. The membership is one product used on a monthly or annual billing cycle. A different billing cycle does not grant a different role or feature tier.
Article 4 Payment, Renewal, Termination and Refunds
- iOS subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and Android subscriptions through Google Play. The amount, currency, whether tax is included, billing cycle, renewal conditions and cancellation and refund conditions are shown before purchase on the purchase screen and the store's confirmation screen. Transaction records are available in the store's purchase history and the app's “Membership” screen.
- An auto-renewing subscription renews on the displayed cycle unless the member cancels. To stop the next payment, cancel renewal in Apple subscription management or Google Play subscription management; the service remains available until the paid period ends. A free trial converts to a paid subscription when it ends without any further step; to avoid conversion, cancel renewal through the same route before the deadline the store sets for the end of the trial. Increases in the recurring amount and conversion from a free offer to paid billing follow the prior-consent procedure required by applicable law.
- The membership is a digital content service delivered the moment payment is made, so once paid billing has started, withdrawal for a change of mind is excluded under Article 17(2)5 of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce. The Company states this before purchase, and provides the 3-day free trial as the trial opportunity. Where the service is provided differently from what was displayed, advertised or contracted, withdrawal remains available within 3 months of supply or within 30 days of learning of that fact.
- A paid subscription fee is not refunded. This applies to monthly and annual subscriptions alike, including an annual subscription cancelled before its period ends: cancelling stops the next renewal, the service remains available until the paid period ends, and the fee for a period already begun is not settled. A refund the store grants under its own policy is the store's decision. These conditions are shown before purchase.
- Requests under paragraphs 3 and 6 are received through the store's support route or at info@maruna.ai. Where the Company has a refund duty under applicable law, it refunds or requests payment cancellation within 3 business days of the statutory starting date. Store involvement does not by itself exclude the Company's statutory obligations.
- For service failures or non-performance attributable to the Company, remedies such as restoration, period adjustment or refund are provided under applicable law. Deleting the app or the account does not cancel a store subscription, and the Company explains this and the subscription-management route during deletion. After deletion, requests concerning statutory rights such as refunds and cancellation of a minor's contract can still be submitted to customer support.
Article 5 Your Commitments
Register with accurate information and protect your account. Using another person's account, selling or lending credentials, and transferring an account are not permitted. Report suspected takeover to customer support.
Respect other people's rights. Post content containing another person's face, voice, personal data or work only when you hold the rights needed to post and share it. Follow the usage conditions of the filming location. When entering or publishing another person's record on their behalf, stay within what that person allowed.
Do not falsify records. Do not deliberately alter another person's records or impersonate official records or certification.
Use the service only in the normal way. Circumventing access rights, circumventing authentication or access controls, automated bulk collection, deliberate disruption and spam are not permitted.
Do not threaten or harass other members. Threats, harassment, doxxing and distribution of illegal content are restricted under the Community Operating Policy.
Label sponsored posts as ads. Posts, videos and comments made for payment or other consideration must use the “Paid advertisement” label provided when posting, and must follow advertising labeling law and guidelines. Unlabeled sponsored posts are restricted under the Community Operating Policy.
These are not violations. Legitimate criticism, customer-support requests, exercise of personal-data rights and good-faith error reports are not violations.
Article 6 Permissions You Give the Company
Content licence. You keep ownership of your records and content. You grant the Company a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, copy, convert, generate thumbnails and previews of, transmit, play back and display your content within the service inside the visibility you set, and the Company may sublicense it to processors within the scope of entrusted processing. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, and survives only within the scope set in Article 7 for messages other members have already received and for other participants' records in shared rounds.
Aggregate statistics. The Company may use aggregate statistics that cannot identify an individual to improve the service and explain features.
Analysis results are the Company's work. Rights in the statistics, analyses and AI answers the Company computes from members' records, and in the database that collects members' records as a whole, belong to the Company. Members may view their own analysis results in the service while their membership is valid. This clause does not affect members' rights in their records themselves or access requests under the Privacy Notice.
Feedback and suggestions. If you send opinions or suggestions about the service, the Company may use them to improve the service without compensation or a duty of confidentiality. Sending a suggestion does not transfer your copyright or other rights to the Company.
What you do not permit. Advertising or promotion outside the service, sale of content and model training are not part of this licence and require separate consent. Private or restricted records, messages and videos are not made public beyond the scope you set, and technical processing needed for operation does not widen that scope.
Article 7 Visibility and Sharing of Records
You set the visibility. The visibility of profiles, records and content follows the settings the member chose in each feature.
Messages you sent and rounds you shared stay with the other person. Messages a member sent to other members, and scores and records shared with other participants in a round played together, remain with those counterparts. When a member deletes their account, the member's messages and comments are deleted from counterparts' screens as well; in shared rounds only the other participants' records remain as theirs, and the member's name and profile are removed.
Content that left the service cannot all be recalled by the Company. Content made public externally may be stored separately by recipients or search services. The Company handles visibility changes and deletion requests within the scope it controls and explains how to request removal of external copies.
Seeing content does not mean you may take it. The display of another member's content in the service does not by itself permit copying, redistribution or commercial use.
Article 8 AI Features
Two features use AI. One is an AI question feature that answers the member's questions about their own records; the other is an automatic review that checks whether nicknames, comments and post text contain prohibited content. Generative AI output carries the labeling required by applicable law.
Both features send the minimum necessary information to an external AI provider (OpenAI). The information sent, the purpose, the provider and the related rights are described in Section 4 of the Privacy Notice, and any consent or permission required by law or applicable platform policy is obtained before transmission.
Your records are not used to train models. The Company does not use members' records or questions for model training and does not permit training use in its contract with the external AI provider.
AI answers are reference material. Analysis results may vary with the records entered and the material available. An interpretation of records does not guarantee playing performance and does not replace an official certification by a tournament organizer. A member who disagrees with an automatic review result may request re-review under Article 10.
Article 9 Rights the Company Retains
The service can change. The Company may improve and change the service and its features. A change that reduces the main content of a paid subscription, or termination of the service, is announced 30 days in advance with individual notice, and the amount for the unused period of a paid subscription is refunded. No separate damages are owed for a change or termination made on such notice. For security threats or urgent failures the Company acts first and then explains without delay.
On a rights-holder's request, content comes down first. On a rights-holder's request or where a violation is suspected, the Company may, under Article 44-2 of the Network Act, delete the content or apply a temporary measure of up to 30 days, and may do so without judging the infringement itself. The poster may request re-posting under the Community Operating Policy. The Company is not liable for measures taken under the law.
Ads and announcements may appear in the service. The Company may place ads within the service and present new features and its other services. Ads are labeled as ads, and members' records and personal data are not given to advertisers. The Company does not run external advertising using members' records.
The contract can be transferred. The Company may transfer its contractual position and its rights and duties under these Terms through a business transfer, merger or similar transaction, following the prior notice and personal-data transfer procedures required by law.
ProTips itself belongs to the Company. Rights in the app, server software, design, marks, course and tournament databases and their compilations belong to the Company or to the rights holders who licensed them to the Company. Members receive a non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes under these Terms. Reverse engineering, copying, modifying or redistributing the app, accessing the service by any means other than the app and web the Company provides, and bulk extraction of course or tournament data are not permitted.
Article 10 Restrictions and Objections
Violations are handled in steps. When a violation is confirmed, or a member's use creates legal risk for the Company, measures such as guidance or warning, restriction of the content concerned, temporary restriction of specific features, or termination of the contract may be taken according to seriousness, repetition, the scope of harm and remediation.
Measures come with reasons. The reason, basis, scope, duration and objection method of a measure are notified. Where urgent prevention of harm is needed, the necessary measure may be taken first and notified without delay afterwards.
Object at info@maruna.ai. The Company reviews the submitted material and the appropriateness of the measure and explains the result and reasons.
Wrong measures are reversed. If a restriction is found to be erroneous, the measure is cancelled or changed, restorable permissions and content are restored, and damage attributable to the Company is addressed.
Statutory rights survive a restriction. Statutory refund and damages rights are not excluded wholesale when a paying member is restricted or the contract is terminated.
Article 11 Account Deletion and Data
Deletion can be requested in the app, through support, or on the web. Members can request deletion through “Delete account” in the app's Settings or through customer support. Without reinstalling the app, a member can also request deletion at www.protips.co.kr/account-deletion after verifying with the Google or Apple account used in ProTips.
Account use ends immediately on deletion. After the requester's identity is verified to the extent necessary, account use ends immediately. Destruction of ordinary personal data, legally retained information, shared content and external processors' data follow Section 5 of the Privacy Notice.
The same login account can register again after 100 days. The deleted login account cannot register again for 100 days after deletion. For this purpose only a one-way hash of the login identifier is kept separately and is deleted automatically after 100 days. Objections to this restriction can be raised at info@maruna.ai.
Subscriptions must be cancelled separately. Before deletion, the member is informed of any active store subscription and upcoming payment. A remaining subscription is not a reason to refuse a lawful personal-data request or the receipt of an account deletion request.
A deceased member's account is deleted at the family's request. Once the member's death and the requester's relationship are verified, the Company deletes the account, and post-deletion processing is as above. The Company does not give the family access to the account's contents.
Article 12 Liability
The Company does its best but does not guarantee perfection. The Company works to provide the service reliably but does not guarantee that it will always be free of errors. For content posted by members or others, and for conduct between members, the Company is liable only to the extent set by applicable law.
The party at fault is liable. Where the Company or a member causes damage to the other party by breaching contractual duties or the law intentionally or negligently, that party is liable under applicable law.
Liability for ordinary negligence is capped. The Company's liability for damage caused by ordinary negligence is limited to the subscription fees the member paid to the Company in the 12 months before the damage occurred, and does not include special damage that could not ordinarily be foreseen or indirect damage. This limit does not apply to damage caused by the Company's intent or gross negligence, to death or personal injury, to damage from personal-data breaches, or to liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Members compensate the damage they cause. A member who causes damage to the Company through prohibited conduct compensates that damage. Damage includes the costs actually incurred to investigate the violation, block it and restore the service. Where a third party brings a claim against the Company because of the member's content or conduct, the member bears the cost and liability to the extent of the member's fault. The Company's own liabilities or penalties are not passed on to members wholesale.
Other companies' services are their responsibility. Features provided by other companies, such as store billing, external login and weather forecasts, follow those companies' terms and policies, and the Company is liable for their failure or change only to the extent attributable to the Company.
Article 13 Dispute Resolution
Korean law applies. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Members' rights under applicable mandatory consumer-protection provisions are not limited.
Consultation, mediation or court are all open. Disputes may be resolved through consultation with customer support, statutory dispute mediation or the competent court. Contacting customer support is not a precondition for litigation or the exercise of statutory rights.
The court of the member's address has jurisdiction. Transaction-related lawsuits subject to exclusive jurisdiction under the E-commerce Act are heard by the court of the member's address. Other lawsuits may be filed with the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act and other applicable law.
Limitation periods follow the law. Statutory limitation periods and periods for exercising rights apply.
Article 14 Amendments and Miscellaneous
Changes are announced in advance. When the Terms change, the change is announced at least 7 days before the effective date. A change that is unfavorable to members or alters important rights or duties is announced at least 30 days before the effective date and notified individually by the email registered to the account or by app notification.
If you do not object within 30 days, you are treated as having agreed. Where the Company's 30-day announcement and individual notice also state that “if you do not express refusal within this period you will be treated as having agreed to the amended Terms”, and the member does not express refusal within that period, the member is treated as having agreed to the amended Terms. A member who refuses may terminate the contract, and the amount for the unused period of a paid subscription is refunded. Consent to personal-data processing is not replaced by this clause.
Stronger legal protection prevails. Where the law requires a longer notice period or separate consent, that applies. Amended Terms do not retroactively limit members' rights. The current and previous versions are available at www.protips.co.kr/terms-of-service and, after registration, under “Terms and policies” in Settings.
This is how notices are given. Notices to an individual member are sent to the email registered to the account or by app notification. Notices to all members may be given by posting in the app's announcements for at least 7 days in place of individual notice. Changes unfavorable to members and notices concerning paid contracts are always given individually.
Individual agreements prevail, and the rest survives an invalid clause. Individual agreements that differ from these Terms prevail to the extent permitted by law. If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect, and an invalid provision is not replaced at will with one unfavorable to members. Provisions that by their nature must outlive the contract (Articles 6 and 7 for content other members already received, Article 12 on liability, Article 13 on disputes, and legally retained records) continue to apply after termination.
The Korean text is the reference. Where this Korean text for members in the Republic of Korea and a translation in another language are interpreted differently, the mandatory laws of the Republic of Korea and members' lawful rights prevail.
Article 15 App Store Provisions
The parties to these Terms are the Company and the member. Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms; maintenance and support of the app, warranties, product liability and the handling of intellectual-property claims are the Company's responsibility. If the app fails to conform to a warranty, the member may ask the store to refund the purchase price of the app, and any other liability rests with the Company under these Terms.
Apple is a third-party beneficiary. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon the member's acceptance, have the right to enforce these Terms against the member directly. The member confirms that they are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo and are not on any list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Article 16 Supplemental Terms for Members Outside the Republic of Korea
This Article applies to members residing outside the Republic of Korea, to the extent permitted by the law of their place of residence. It does not apply to members in the Republic of Korea. For members to whom it applies, this Article prevails over Articles 1, 6, 12, 13 and 14.
Age. Members must be at least 13 years old, or older where the law of their place of residence sets a higher age.
Content licence. Members grant the Company a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable and perpetual licence to store, copy, modify, adapt, publish, transmit and distribute their content and to use it to promote the service and the Company, together with the right to use the member's name and profile picture to identify the source of the content. Deleted content may remain in copies other members have shared; backups are handled under the Privacy Notice.
Limitation of liability. The Company's aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of USD 100 or the amount the member paid the Company in the 6 months before the claim arose, and the Company is not liable for indirect, special or consequential damage or for loss of profits or data. Liability that the law does not allow to be excluded follows that law.
Indemnity. Where a third party brings a claim against the Company arising from the member's content, use of the service or breach of these Terms, the member indemnifies the Company and compensates its loss, including reasonable attorneys' fees.
Amendments. Continued use of the service after amended Terms are announced constitutes agreement to the amendment. Consent to personal-data processing follows the law of the member's place of residence.
Dispute resolution. Disputes between the Company and a member to whom this Article applies are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea, and the Seoul Central District Court has exclusive jurisdiction. The member waives the right to participate in a class or representative action; where the mandatory law of the place of residence provides otherwise, that law applies.
