ProTips collects your information in three ways: ① Direct input information, ② Automatically collected information, ③ Third-party provided information. Each category is an essential element for ProTips' service provision and feature operation, and this section explains the specific contents.
1.1 Direct Input Information
ProTips provides services based on information you directly input or create. Such information is collected for overall service operations including account creation, feature implementation, personalized content recommendation, and community interaction, and some information may be disclosed to other users according to your choice.
Account Information When you create a ProTips account, we collect basic account information such as username, unique ID (@ID), password, email address, mobile phone number, date of birth, and language settings. You may optionally add information such as profile photos, self-introductions, and external links, which constitute your profile within the platform and are used for community interaction. You may also choose third-party authentication platform login methods such as Apple and Google, in which case authentication information provided by the relevant platform is transmitted to us.
Content Content you upload or create on ProTips includes golf swing videos, images, text comments, hashtags, and other multimedia files, and metadata such as creation time, location information (when optionally provided), editing methods, and applied effects is also collected together. Some content may be temporarily processed for providing features such as automatic recommendation, video effect application, and quality improvement even if you do not explicitly post it. When you apply video effects, text comments, or drawing feedback (visual opinions written by hand on videos) to content, we may also collect the original video before applying such features. Such information is used for purposes such as personalized content recommendation, community interaction, and advancement of artificial intelligence-based features.
Messages When you use ProTips' messaging features to communicate with other users, we may collect message body content along with metadata such as sender and recipient information, transmission time, and reading status. This information is used for purposes such as providing communication features, account protection, and detecting and responding to fraudulent activities. Messages you send are delivered to recipients, and we do not control or take responsibility for how recipients use them.
Payment Information When you purchase paid products or services on ProTips, we collect information such as payment card information, billing address, purchased items, and transaction date and time, and this process is securely handled through affiliated payment processors. Collected payment information is stored only for the period prescribed by relevant laws and is not used for purposes other than contract fulfillment such as settlement and accounting management.
Contacts When you upload your address book or use features to find acquaintances by linking external third-party platform accounts, we may collect information such as names, phone numbers, and emails from your address book or external platforms. This information is used only for purposes such as acquaintance recommendations and follow features to strengthen connectivity within the platform and is not provided to third parties without your explicit consent.
Support Information When you contact customer service or submit feedback, we collect information such as names, contact information, message content, and attachments you provide related to the request. This information is used only for internal operational purposes such as problem resolution, customer service quality improvement, and service enhancement.
Events When you participate in community events such as surveys, challenges, contests, etc. hosted or sponsored by ProTips, we may collect information such as responses, posts, and contact information you submit, which is used for purposes such as event operation, winner notification, and benefit provision.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
While you use ProTips Services, we automatically collect various information about your usage patterns, device environment, content interaction, etc. This information is used for purposes such as stable service provision, personalized content recommendation, advertising operation efficiency improvement, security enhancement, and user experience improvement.
Usage Information Information such as videos you create or watch, length and type of uploaded content, applied editing effects, time when content was created or viewed, repeat playback status, etc. is collected. Also included are interaction records such as comments, likes, saves, shares you leave on other users' content, and community activity information such as hashtags used, groups participated in, awards received, etc. Such usage information is used for ProTips' artificial intelligence recommendation system advancement and providing customized content based on your preferences.
Messages When you use ProTips' messaging features or group communication features, we collect metadata of such messages including sender and recipient information, transmission time, reading status, participant list, etc. Message body content is not viewed, but may be accessed limitedly only when there are legitimate reasons such as legal obligation compliance, fraud prevention, or responding to user reports.
Device Information From devices you use to access ProTips, we may collect information such as IP address, device model name, operating system version, app version, language and region settings, browser type, screen resolution, network connection method, carrier information, advertising identifier, battery status, audio device connection status, etc. This information is used as basic data for technical management such as service performance improvement, content playback optimization, abnormal access detection, and security response.
Location Information We may collect approximate location information according to your settings, which is estimated based on IP address, network information, SIM card country code, etc. When you activate your device's location services (GPS, etc.) and grant location access permission to the ProTips app, more precise location information may be collected. Location information is used for purposes such as content recommendation, advertising targeting, and community suggestions for providing location-based features, and you may change or withdraw such permissions at any time through device settings.
Log Information You may view ProTips content or use some features even when not logged in, in which case we may receive non-identifying log information such as IP address, access time, visited screens, referrer URL, device identifier, search history, etc. from browsers or devices. This information is used for purposes such as service security enhancement, content access pattern analysis, and fraudulent use detection. Furthermore, when your usage environment is similar to previously logged-in accounts, we may technically estimate the possibility of being the same user based on such information.
Advertising Information When you view, click, save, share, or otherwise interact with advertisements exposed within or outside the ProTips platform, we collect data such as device information, advertising identifier, and reaction time linked to the relevant advertising events. This information is used for purposes such as advertising performance measurement, targeting accuracy improvement, preventing repeated exposure, and detecting fraudulent clicks, and related data may be shared with our advertisers or partnership partners within contractually permitted scope.
Inference Information We may automatically infer specific attributes such as your interests, preferred content types, activity time periods, etc. based on your content usage history, interaction patterns, community participation details, etc. This information is referenced for ProTips' feed composition, recommendation algorithm improvement, and service optimization and is not used in ways that directly identify your real name or sensitive information.
Cookie Information We use similar technologies such as cookies, local storage, pixel tags, SDKs, etc. in web and app environments to collect your login status maintenance, language and environment settings, search paths, feature usage history, advertising reaction records, etc. These technologies operate essentially for user experience improvement, providing personalized content and advertisements, and detecting abnormal usage, and some features may not be available without activating such technologies. You may directly manage or adjust cookie settings through browser or device settings.
External Access When you view external web pages containing ProTips content or affiliated services (e.g., swing sharing viewers, externally linked posts, etc.) or click buttons on such pages, we may receive information such as the page address where the request occurred, access time, and device and browser information used. This information is used as technical basis for content inflow path analysis, content protection, abnormal behavior detection, and security response.
1.3 Third-Party Provided Information
In addition to information you directly provide, ProTips may receive third-party information legitimately collected according to your consent or relevant laws. This information is used for purposes such as platform feature enhancement, user experience improvement, advertising performance analysis, account linkage convenience provision, and security enhancement.
Advertising Information We may receive information such as your advertising viewing and click history, content viewing patterns, advertising identifiers, cookie-based behavioral data, hashed email addresses and phone numbers, etc. from advertisers, advertising technology partners, analytics service providers, etc. This information is collected while you encounter advertisements outside ProTips or use advertisers' websites or apps with installed Pixels/SDKs and is used for purposes such as improving advertising targeting precision, performance measurement, and preventing duplicate exposure.
Account Linkage When you sign up for or log in to ProTips through third-party social login features such as Google or Apple, the relevant platform may provide us with account identification information such as your authentication information, username, email address, public profile, and login history. Furthermore, when you selectively use features such as account linkage and content sharing between ProTips and external platforms, the relevant platform may transmit App ID, token information, sharing history, etc. to us.
Partnership Services When you connect external services with ProTips or use integrated features, we may receive information necessary for linkage such as your activity details, public profile, content links (URLs), and content processing results from the relevant partnership services. This information is used for purposes such as providing inter-service linkage features, cross-community content sharing, and maintaining integration consistency.
Trust Information For safe and responsible ProTips community operation, we may receive information such as fraudulent activity reports about you, content appropriateness evaluation results, usage restriction requests, and community guideline violation details from external community partners, content quality evaluators, platform monitoring partners, etc. This information is used to determine policy violation status according to prior notification procedures and, when necessary, for community protection measures such as content restriction and account sanctions.
Other Information When you are mentioned or tagged in other users' content, messages, reports, feedback, etc., we may indirectly receive some information about you from such users. Furthermore, when you are connected with third parties through customer support, event participation, content partnerships, external channel integration, etc., related contact information or user activity information may be provided together. This information is used within limited scope only for responding to relevant features and maintaining service continuity, not for independently identifying you or external utilization.
2. Information Usage Purposes
ProTips uses collected information comprehensively for various purposes. The same information may be used simultaneously for different purposes according to its context, technical processing methods, and feature implementation necessity, which is based on the essential operating method of service provision systems. This section explains the main ways we use your information, and more specific usage purposes can be checked together in the individual privacy policies for each item.
Service Provision We use your information to operate and provide ProTips' basic services such as account identification, content upload and viewing feature provision, community participation, message transmission and reception, paid service payment processing, content storage and sharing, and notification sending. Profile information, account linkage information, etc. that you optionally input may also be used to identify your activities or support interaction with affiliated external channels.
Content Recommendation and User Experience Improvement ProTips continuously trains artificial intelligence algorithms based on your content consumption patterns, video viewing history, content reaction records, and community interactions. Through this, we preferentially expose content with higher relevance and interest to you, and recommendation feed composition, video exploration order, group suggestions, community content distribution, etc. are automatically optimized according to your usage history and system learning results. This process aims to provide differentiated experiences for each user.
Advertising Operation and Targeting We use your service usage details, advertising viewing and interaction records, content preferences, device environment in use, approximate location information, etc. to provide more personalized advertisements. This information is used for advertising exposure frequency control, preventing repeated exposure, detecting fraudulent clicks, advertising performance analysis, and customized promotion composition, and is shared with affiliated advertising partners or external platforms only within contractually permitted scope. Furthermore, we operate in directions that simultaneously satisfy your interests and advertisers' purposes through subsequent advertising recommendations linked to your activity history and content-based campaign composition.
Security and Policy Enforcement We analyze and monitor your information for service safety and user protection. This includes purposes such as preventing account theft, detecting abnormal activities, content filtering, responding to community operation standard violations, proceeding with usage restriction procedures, and responding to legal requests. We perform reviews of reported content or messages, algorithm-based risk sign detection, and judgments on users who repeatedly violate policies based on collected information and relevant contexts. Such analysis is a core means for maintaining service reliability and community order.
Device Optimization and Technical Support Based on your device environment, network status, app usage methods, etc., we improve service quality and diagnose technical errors. This includes technical measures such as automatic screen ratio correction, video playback optimization, feature response speed improvement, and app stability enhancement, and related data is used as basic material for future feature improvement and statistical analysis. We also continuously improve overall ProTips performance through maintenance procedures such as internal testing, error reproduction, user feedback reflection, and bug fixes.
Communication with Users We may contact you for purposes such as service updates, feature changes, terms or policy amendments, customer support response, and marketing and promotion guidance. In this process, we provide information through appropriate means such as email, app notifications, SMS, etc. according to collected contact information or your consent to receive. You may refuse to receive marketing messages at any time, and refusal functions are clearly displayed in each guidance means.
AI Learning and Feature Research ProTips may analyze metadata of content you create, editing history, interaction patterns, error occurrence information, etc. and reflect them in machine learning models to improve the performance of artificial intelligence technology that constitutes the service's core features. This information is used for learning in pre-de-identified or anonymized forms and does not include sensitive identification information such as real names. This process is part of technical research for improving video recognition accuracy, advancing recommendation algorithms, improving automatic editing quality, and refining user classification models.
Events and Experiments ProTips analyzes responses and participation records collected through surveys, challenges, feature beta tests, in-app campaigns, etc. to reference new feature development and user engagement strategy establishment. This information is used only in internally designed experimental environments and is not disclosed externally or shared with third parties without your consent. This is limited to restricted and purpose-oriented processing for product improvement and user engagement expansion.
3. Information Sharing Standards
ProTips not only collects your information but also shares information with trustworthy third parties within necessary scope. Such sharing inevitably occurs for service provision, feature operation, advertising execution, legal compliance, technical integration, etc., and we differentiate the scope and methods of information according to each sharing purpose. Below are the main ways we share information.
Posted Information Content you upload to ProTips, comments you write, and profile information you optionally input (e.g., nickname, ID, profile image, etc.) may be displayed to other users within ProTips or the general public according to your privacy settings. When you allow public disclosure of such content, it may be exposed to users who are not logged in and may be accessible through search engine results or external sharing links. In particular, when using sharing features or community interaction features, your activity information may be displayed on external platforms operated by third parties.
Community Information Messages you exchange within ProTips, follow relationships, comment interactions, group participation details, etc. may be shared with relevant other users or group members, and when you explicitly send messages or share content, recipients may view or re-share them. We provide necessary control rights and feature settings so that your information is not used beyond its originally intended scope while supporting community interactions.
Service Providers We cooperate with trustworthy external service providers for ProTips' technical operation, payment processing, customer support, data storage, content monitoring, service analysis, etc., and may share some of your information with them. For example, when using paid services, payment processors handle your card and billing information, and customer support outsourcing companies may view your inquiry contents during error reporting or customer inquiry response processes. We strictly stipulate information protection measures through contracts with these companies and prohibit information use beyond outsourced service provision purposes.
Advertising Partners We cooperate with advertising networks, campaign operators, measurement partners, etc. for advertising operation and performance measurement and may share non-identifying information such as your advertising exposure history, click records, advertising identifiers, and device information with them. When you click advertisements within ProTips or flow into advertisers' external sites, relevant third parties may recognize your advertisement inflow and collect cookie identifiers or IP addresses, etc. This information is used for purposes such as advertising performance analysis, targeting accuracy improvement, and preventing repeated exposure, and may be separately managed according to each advertising partner's privacy policy.
Partnership Platforms When you use third-party login features such as Apple or Google or link ProTips accounts with other social accounts, we may share authentication information, public profiles, App IDs, token information, etc. with relevant authentication platforms. Furthermore, when you share ProTips content to external platforms or integrate accounts with other platforms, some of your content or profile may be linked to the relevant partnership platforms, and in such cases, information may be displayed or stored according to the relevant platform's privacy policy. We share only the minimum information necessary for providing partnership platform linkage features, and sharing scope may vary according to your prior settings.
Policy Enforcement We may share your information with relevant institutions or stakeholders for legal requests, judicial orders, regulatory agency demands, terms violation response, fraudulent activity detection, community order maintenance, rights infringement dispute response, etc. This may include information such as your IP address, account activity history, content upload records, report details, and technical logs, and when there are legitimate reasons to verify your identity or age, we may share such information with trustworthy partners within limited scope. Such information sharing occurs through procedures carefully reviewed according to relevant laws and internal standards.
Business Transfer When ProTips transfers management rights or asset ownership to third parties through procedures such as merger, acquisition, asset transfer, organizational restructuring, business transfer, bankruptcy, etc., your information may be transferred as part of such transactions. In such cases, your information continues to be protected according to relevant laws and this Privacy Policy, and we clearly notify you of such facts before or immediately after the transaction is finalized. New owners may request separate consent for information processing beyond purposes specified in this policy.
Affiliates For ProTips platform's technical operation, security enhancement, advertising operation, service joint development, etc., we may share your information with Maruna AI Inc.'s affiliates, subsidiaries, or joint operators. Even in such cases, shared information is used only within scope that meets the collection purposes specified in this Privacy Policy and is not transferred to external third parties without your prior consent. All affiliates are subject to the same level of information protection measures as ours, and your rights and choices are equally guaranteed according to this policy during joint operation.
4. Information Retention Period
ProTips retains your information within the scope necessary to provide stable services to you, fulfill legal obligations, and maintain platform security and operational stability. Retention periods for each type of information are set differently according to information characteristics, relevant legal requirements, service provision purposes, etc., and when retention becomes unnecessary, it is promptly destroyed or de-identified.
Account Information Account identification information such as username, unique ID (@ID), email address, and password entered when creating accounts is retained while your account remains active, and when you delete your account or withdraw, it is safely destroyed after a certain period within the scope permitted by relevant laws. Some information may be retained for minimum periods according to legal obligations such as electronic commerce record preservation.
Content Information Activity records within the service such as videos, images, comments, likes, etc. you create or upload are retained until such content is deleted or accounts become inactive. When you directly delete content or set it as private, such information is immediately made private and deletion procedures are performed according to relevant requests. However, some content information with violation history may be retained for limited periods to ensure community operation safety.
Payment Information Payment-related information such as credit card or debit card information, billing address, and transaction details provided when purchasing paid products and services is retained for periods prescribed by relevant laws (e.g., Electronic Commerce Act, Income Tax Act, etc.) after transaction completion. For example, records of payment and goods supply may be retained for up to 5 years, and are safely destroyed after such periods expire.
Communication Records Communication records such as customer service inquiries, emails exchanged with us, report contents, and feedback are retained for up to 18 months for internal response quality management and user rights protection. However, when there are needs for dispute response, rights exercise, or legal obligation fulfillment, they may be retained until such reasons are eliminated.
Cookie Information Information collected through cookies and similar technologies such as device identifiers, location-based data, and usage logs is generally retained for up to 13 months. However, for marketing purposes, it may be maintained for up to 12 months according to relevant regulatory standards. More specific matters regarding cookie and similar technology utilization can be checked in the separately provided cookie policy.
Advertising Records Interaction records such as viewing, clicking, and saving advertising content provided by ProTips or advertising partners are retained for up to 12 months for purposes such as advertising performance measurement, retargeting, and user preference analysis. However, when relevant laws specify retention periods for advertising records, we retain information according to such laws.
Suspended Account Information For accounts permanently suspended for seriously violating ProTips' operating principles, identifiers used for creating such accounts (email addresses, phone numbers, etc.) may be retained for certain periods or indefinitely to prevent repeated registration and abuse by the same person. This measure is based on operational necessity for service stability and community protection.
Legal Obligations We may need to retain specific information beyond legal periods due to laws, regulations, government agency requests, judicial agency orders, or litigation response. This includes public interest purposes such as legal rights protection, fraud prevention, security maintenance, and minor protection, and for example, information such as access logs may be retained for certain periods upon investigative agency requests.
Search Exposure When you delete content on ProTips or set it as private, such changes are immediately applied within the platform. However, cached copies in search engines or third-party platforms may be separately retained or exposed according to each operator's policies. Detailed guidance on such search exposure scope and deletion request procedures can be checked through customer service.
5. User Rights
ProTips provides various features and procedures so that you can exercise substantial control over your personal information. You may directly view and modify your information and, when necessary, request deletion, transfer, copy provision, etc. of information. Such rights are guaranteed within the scope prescribed by relevant laws, and we strive to process your requests promptly and safely.
Access You may check information you directly input through ProTips' settings menu or account editing features and modify it when necessary. Furthermore, when you want copies of information we have collected or created about you, you may request downloads through relevant menus or submit individual requests through customer service. We provide necessary information according to legitimate procedures after confirming the content and scope of requests.
Correction You may directly modify major account information such as names, profile photos, contact information, and passwords registered in accounts, and for other automatically collected information or system-restricted items, you may separately submit correction requests. We promptly reflect corrections or updates when such requests are reasonable and comply with relevant laws.
Portability You may request to receive personal information collected or created on the ProTips platform in machine-readable format or transfer it to third-party service providers. This right is provided within the scope of relevant laws and technical implementation possibilities, and we support your transfer requests in reasonable ways when possible, comprehensively considering system stability and information security levels.
Deletion When you request account withdrawal or demand deletion of specific information, we safely delete such information within the scope permitted by relevant laws after going through internal confirmation procedures. Account withdrawal applies certain hold periods, and after such periods expire, your account and all linked information is completely deleted in irreversible ways. However, information required to be preserved by law is separately stored during relevant periods.
Restriction You may request restrictions on the Company's processing of specific personal information, and when such requests are submitted with reasonable grounds, we may restrict processing such information temporarily or permanently. Restriction requests are generally recognized when disputes about information accuracy or judgments about processing purpose legitimacy are necessary, and we review request content and grounds to provide results.
Objection When you disagree with our personal information processing methods or determine that your rights have been infringed, you may raise objections to us. We review such objections according to objective standards and may request additional materials when necessary or provide guidance procedures for external dispute mediation institutions. We carefully process relevant procedures so that your rights can be fairly considered.
Consent Withdrawal You may withdraw consent at any time for personal information processing such as marketing, customized recommendations, and targeted advertising processed based on prior consent. After withdrawal, related information processing is immediately stopped, which may affect some features such as content recommendation accuracy and service personalization level. Consent withdrawal can be easily requested through settings menus or customer service.
Proxy Requests When your legal representative or someone delegated by you makes requests such as personal information access, correction, or deletion on your behalf, we process such requests through official documents that can prove delegation relationships and requester identity verification procedures. This secures balance between personal information protection and fulfilling legitimate requesters' rights.
Device Settings You may restrict or block specific information collection such as cookie use, location information access, and notification reception through browser or mobile device settings. However, some features may not operate normally due to such setting changes, which is due to technical limitations in service provision. Furthermore, even with the same settings, they may need to be applied individually according to browsers, operating systems, and app versions used.
6. Legal Basis and Responsibility
ProTips strives to provide consistent standard services to users worldwide while respecting and complying with personal information protection-related laws of each user's country of residence. Accordingly, some features or data processing methods may be differentially applied or restricted according to jurisdictional laws, and we provide advance notice and implement technical measures for this.
Legal Basis We perform such acts based on legitimate legal grounds according to relevant laws in collecting, using, storing, sharing, and processing your personal information. Specifically, personal information processing may be based on (i) fulfillment of contracts concluded with you, (ii) our legitimate business operation purposes, (iii) fulfillment of legal obligations, (iv) your prior explicit consent, etc. We do not sell your personal information and use such information only within the purposes and scope specified in this policy. When processing purposes change, we clearly guide the reasons and legal basis and obtain your additional consent when necessary.
International Transfer In providing global services, ProTips may transfer your personal information to regions outside your country of residence. This applies when you interact with users residing in other countries or when we operate services using overseas data centers and third-party service providers. When internationally transferring personal information, we evaluate risks that such transfers may cause in advance and establish appropriate protective measures such as Standard Contractual Clauses to secure transfer legitimacy and safety. Furthermore, we contractually require recipients to implement personal information protection measures equivalent to ours.
Data Protection Framework We handle your information in ways that meet personal information protection-related laws and regulatory standards of each country where your personal information is transmitted, stored, and processed. Currently, ProTips operates centered on U.S.-based infrastructure, and for regions requiring advanced personal information protection standards such as the European Union (EU), United Kingdom (UK), and Switzerland, we continuously strengthen adequacy assessments, technical protective measures, and administrative reviews. In the future, according to global personal information transfer frameworks (EU-U.S. DPF, etc.) or European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other jurisdictional requirements, we will comply with all necessary procedures so that your rights can be substantially guaranteed.
7. Age Usage Standards
ProTips Services are not intended for children under 13 years of age, and if you are under 13 years of age, you cannot use this Service. Furthermore, you must have reached the minimum age to directly provide legally effective consent regarding personal information processing according to the laws of your country of residence. In some jurisdictions, legal representatives may provide such consent on behalf, and in such cases, additional verification procedures may be required according to legal requirements.
We do not intentionally collect or store personal information of children under 13 years of age, and upon becoming aware of this, we immediately take necessary measures to delete such information and terminate related accounts. If you are a parent or guardian and become aware that your child has provided personal information to ProTips without your consent, please contact us immediately. We prioritize measures for protecting children's personal information as soon as such facts are confirmed.
We continuously provide guardian guidance materials and control features so that guardians and teenage users can correctly understand and use the ProTips platform and provided features. Such materials can be checked through [separate guidance pages].
8. Policy Change Notice
This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time according to amendments to relevant laws, service structure changes, internal policy adjustments, or other operational necessities. We always process your personal information according to the latest policy, and amended Privacy Policies take effect by posting them within the ProTips platform. Application timing for each version is based on the "Last Updated" date specified at the top.
When we determine that amendment contents significantly affect your rights or service use, we provide clear advance guidance on amendments and provide sufficient time for you to review them. Notification methods are made through reasonably selected means such as in-service notifications, email sending, or in-app announcements, and notification contents include key changes and their application dates.
If you disagree with changed policy contents, you may stop using the service and deactivate your account or request personal information deletion. Conversely, if you continue using the service after the effective date of amended policies, you are deemed to have agreed to such amendments. We promise to implement appropriate procedures for each policy change to protect your rights and comply with relevant laws.
9. Language Standard Notice
This Privacy Policy was originally written in English in principle and may be translated into other languages including Korean for user convenience. We strive to maximize translation accuracy and expression consistency, but meaning differences from the original text, context interpretation inconsistencies, and legal expression accuracy differences may occur during translation. In such cases, the English original text of this policy takes precedence, and the English version is considered the standard language for legal interpretation and application.
You are deemed to understand and expressly agree that English is used as the standard language for interpretation, composition, and judgment of all legal disputes and rights and obligations related to this Privacy Policy.
